About the Race

The 2014 Birmingham Stage Race
The race will be held on three mountains in Birmingham. The first stage will be on Shades Mountain in the Moss Rock Preserve adjacent to The Preserve in Hoover.  The second stage is at Red Mountain Park, 4 miles west of Interstate 65 just off Lakeshore Drive.  The Final Stage is at Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham.  The three mountains are within a 15 minute drive from the Thursday afternoon Package Pickup location at Mountain High Outfitters Store in Cahaba Village next to Whole Foods on Hwy 280.

The Stage Race will be held over three consecutive days and will total 53 total miles. The races will be very Demanding.   All three stages will be primarily on single track trails and some of these trails are very technical.  Stages one and three will have some very steep climbs and extremely technical terrain.  This race will not be a "walk in the park."  Some of the trails used at Oak Mountain had never been used in a race until the 2013 stage race and no trail race had ever been held at Moss Rock Preserve before the 2013 Birmingham Stage Race.

We have added a Two Day Stage Race for Saturday and Sunday for those that cannot make the Friday Stage.  Entry fee does include a tech shirts and finisher awards and there will be awards for the top three male and female runners.

Runners may enter only one stage but will not receive race shirts or be eligible for awards. Single day registration is only available using the printable registration form found on the website or at late registration Thursday afternoon at Mountain High are before each stage.
