Description

This is a no frills ultra distance trail run.  Get ready for the fall Ultra season with a great long training run or come out and try an ultra for the first time.

Ultra course: Two Loops of the Red Trail (~32 miles).  The first loop is counterclockwise. Then you reverse direction to clockwise (“washing-machine” loops).   Fun run will consist of one loop.

Run will start at 6:30 a.m. (7:00 a.m. for the fun run) heading toward Johnson’s Mountain and up BUMP.  Second loop will reverse direction at the Dogwood Pavilion.

Time Limit: 8 hours.   Cut off time for second loop at North Trail Head is at noon (~22 miles)

Aid Stations: Well stocked at mile 10, 16, 22.  (Bananas, PB&J sandwiches, Water, Nuuns, Pretzels, Coke).   Additional water station at mile 27.

Finisher Awards: Pride and sense of accomplishment along with chocolate milk and cookies.  We will be raffling small prizes for those who sign up online. Ultra finishers will receive a commemorative pint glass.

Day of registration will be available as a last resort but you will not be eligible for the raffle.  Day of registration starts at 6:00 on morning of 9/23/12.

After Party: at High Noon
Sit around and have a cold beer post-run.  Bring a blanket or chair.

Entry Fee: Run is $20 on or before Friday, 9/21/12 .  Day of: $30.

Note:  Park Entry Fee is $3 per person payable at the gate.
