*We will be holding at least 4 different races, on the same course.
There will be a 6hr, 12hr and 24hr solo race with a 6hr relay option.
*Races will be held at the Winfree Bryant Middle School located at 1213 Leeville Pike, Lebanon, TN 37087.
*The course consists of a flat 1 mile loop with the option of running
on either soft grass or pavement in a few areas, with the exception of
some sections where pavement will not be an option. The sections where
running on grass are required have great footing with VERY little
chance of rolling an ankle like most standard trail runs. This is more
of a cross country loop that winds through and along the outer area of
the school property. It will take you away from the festival long
enough to clear your mind, but brings you right back to the party where
you'll have a chance to hear live music, see kids play in a bounce
house, a DJ playing while and clean family friendly movies from midnight
until sunrise. Basically not your typical ultra!!! Since the course
runs along the fields of the property line the amount of shading will
change throughout the day.
*Aid station each mile filled
with some yummy snacks and food at certain times throughout the day and
night. We want to make sure you are fed and aren't left starving. We
understand that some people have specific food needs and we just can't
cater to all of them, so if you have food allergies please keep this in
mind and plan according. Each runner will be required to have at least
one water bottle or hydration pack of their choice.
will be permitted to set up a tent in a specific area, and there will be
2 different restrooms along the route. There will be one restroom
3/10th of a mile into the loop that is designated for the ultra runners
and one at the start/finish line. I'm currently working on getting the
locker room opened up, but I can't promise at this time that showers
will be available.
*You will be guaranteed a finishers
buckle provided you sign up by Sept 1st. Anyone signing up after that
date may have to wait for additional awards to be manufactured, but you
will receive them....
*This is NOT a chip timed event
due to the cost associated with renting such a system and the already
lower than normal entry fee. We do understand how important it is to
accurately keep up with the miles you run (after all we are ultra
runners too). We will be keeping track of your miles and split times as
you come through the shoot.
The 12 and 24hr event will start at 6am on Sept 21st, 2013.
The 6hr solo and relay race will start at noon on Sept 21st, 2013.
(I've been asked if someone can sign up for an event and start late. My answer is Yes, so sign up and come run with us!!)

Packets and Briefing
Your Race packet can be picked up race morning from 5am until 5:50am. We WILL NOT
be holding a Friday evening meeting due to the type of race. We will
also be holding a short briefing at 5:45am on Sept 21st to answer any
final questions. If you have additional questions please feel free to
email me, Joseph Nance, at email@example.com. Please put in the subject line "Run Around the World 24hr" so that I don't delete it.
goal of this event is to unit the running communities together around
the world. We would like runners to dedicate and "LOG" their miles on
Sept 21st - 22nd to this event, Run Around the World. The Earth is
24,901 miles in circumference at the equator. We hope to log a total
of 24,901 miles on this day. With this being the goal we are going to
do a little something different with timing. The time for the 24hr
race will actually be (24hr 9min 01sec) long... This should give
everyone a little more time to finish that notorious last mile.
want this to be a fun, family friendly event that you'll remember. In
order to do this there will be many things going on throughout the
day, and night, to help keep you motivated and inspired to rack up as
many miles as you can. This will mark the end of a Kids Marathon where
children from all over middle TN will come to run their final mile
(For details see additional tab under Run Around the World). There will
be a kids fun zone where bounce houses and games will be available,
live music in the evening, music throughout your entire run, a DJ, and
clean family friendly movies playing from midnight until 6am. Every
hour on the hour we will have a quick 22sec moment of silence as a
reminder that every 22sec a child has lost their life from some type of
waterborne illness. We will also announce the total mileage that has
been entered from runners around the world.
6Hr Packet Pick Up
For those that are running the 6Hr event, you can pick up your packets anytime during the morning at the aid station located at the Start/Finish line. There will be a short race briefing at 11:50am and the race will start at Noon on the dot. If you are running behind, DONT STRESS, you can still pick up your stuff and start whenever you get here. Remember this is a looped course so starting late will only keep you from being able to use the full time to your advantage.
Local time: 4:26 PM
