March 27 - 29, 2014
This Event Took Place Thu. Mar 27, 2014

Welcome

Welcome to the Pickled Feet Runs. For 2015, we will continue with the current menu of 48/24/12/6 Hour and 100 Mile runs. The start/finish HQ area will be the same as 2014, and the long loop will remain the same 2.5 mile loop as 2014. The short finishing loop may change a bit to make it more like .3 miles long so things aren't so crowded. Hope to see you back next year for this awesome race!

Race Times

We have a lot of event options. Make sure you are checking the start times and signing up for the race you intend to!

The Course

You were always looking for a timed race without pavement hurting your feet; at the Pickled Feet Runs, you can enjoy nature while running on a beautiful 2.5 mile flat dirt trail loop bordering the Boise River and Eagle Island pond. All races use the same 2.5 mile loop, including the 100 mile (40 laps). The course is USATF measured and certified in two loops: the main loop is 2.5 miles. The "finishing" loop is .3 miles on a separate asphalt loop around the beach area. The course will be well-marked with flagging and stakes to ensure that everyone is running the proper certified distance.

The Race

The Pickled Feet 48/24/12/6 Hour Runs is a beautiful and flat fixed-time race held at Eagle Island State Park, 8 miles west of Boise, Idaho. Test yourself against the clock and some of the northwest's top timed event runners at Idaho's premier timed race on a 2.5 mile flat, dirt trail. Set a goal and achieve it, running as many miles as you can in 48, 24, 12, or 6 hours. Or, sign up for the 100 mile fixed-distance option!

Times

80% refunds will be given through February 28, 2015. After that, all entries are non-refundable. We are not doing number transfers or rollovers to other races. If you aren't going to be able to run, get your 80% back before Feb 28th and have your friend sign up before March 15, 2015. Registration closes March 15, 2015 at 11:59 PM.

Volunteer Requirement

Solo Runner Volunteer Requirement
Each local runner is asked to furnish one volunteer for the race to fill a minimum 4-hour shift. We will waive this requirement if you are coming from out of town, because we want you to sign up anyway!

Once you have registered, please have your designated volunteer fill out the form on the volunteer page so that we have all their information and can contact them with specifics about their volunteer spot. There is a spot on the form for volunteers to pick their own time frame. Thank you!

Crews, Aid, Facilities

Crew & Personal Aid: Runners may have crew support every lap. There is an area directly adjacent to the course with space for tents or canopies for personal aid stations.
Parking: Enough parking directly adjacent to the course with easy access from the course to your car any time.
Park Entry Fee: The park entry fee for one car is included in your race entry fee. Any other family members or spectators in additional cars will need to pay the State Park fee of $5.
Food and Aid: The official race aid station will be available every 2.5 miles as you finish each lap. Supplementary self-serve aid (drinks, light snacks, chairs) will be set up at the mid-point of the loop. We will have a wide range of typical ultra food, and we are open to your suggestions and food requests.

Awards

All race participants will get a t-shirt (update 2/20/14: maybe something other than a shirt, but nonetheless a cool apparel item) and be entered in a raffle provided by our sponsors. The nice thing about a timed event is that there are no DNFs!
Overall winners (top 3) for each race will receive prizes. Overall man and woman in the timed events will also be crowned Idaho State Champion.
One of the things that makes this race special is that runners who achieve certain mileage milestones will also receive a special post-race award, which will be personalized and made available after the race. Anyone running 100 miles or more has the choice between a buckle and an apparel item (to be decided at the time of registration; default is a buckle).
