WELCOME! LET'S RUN SOME TRAILS!
Come join in on the fun of running one of the Pacific Northwest's oldest and most beloved Fat Asses! The Capitol Peak Mega Fat Ass takes place in Capitol State Forest, near Olympia, Washington, where ancient mountains meet the Puget Sound and all the trails are equal parts scenic and tough.
Fat Ass means good, old-fashioned, unsupported fun! No awards. No t-shirts. No aid. No frills and NO WHINING!
We'll have water and high-fives for you out on the course and that's about it. Anything else you'll want and need to rock 17 or 34 miles: You'll need to bring and carry with you.
The Capitol Peak Mega Fat Ass! is BYOSoup. Bring a can of chicken noodle (or otherwise chicken-ish soup) and/or a can or box of butternut squash soup for the finish-line. We'll take care of the rest!
In addition to being awesome and affordable, the Capitol Peak Mega Fat Ass! is also a fundraiser for Friends of Capitol Forest, so the part of your registration fee that doesn't go to permitting costs will go toward a donation to Friends of Capitol Forest, and we'll be taking additional donations on race-day.
