The 2nd annual WC-50, a multi-lap ultramarathon, will take place on Saturday, October 18, 2014. The race will span throughout the entire USNWC trail system and will feature both a 50K and 50-mile option.

For the more seasoned ultrarunner or those hoping to challenge themselves on a world-class course, the 50m course focuses on increased elevation profile and raises the technical difficulty. Flat trails have been replaced with hills where possible, resulting in four 12.5 mile loops with approximately 7,000 feet of total elevation change. There is a 13-hour limit on finishers for this event.

For the first time ultra competitor or those hoping to sharpen their skills at a distance just beyond the usual marathon, the 50k option will offer three 10.35 mile loops with approximately 3,000 feet of total elevation change.  The 50k course will offer a mix of challenging singletrack climbs and rolling lakeside trails, offering something for runners of all levels. Runners will enjoy a 12 hour cutoff for this race, providing the time necessary for all levels of competitors to complete their challenge.

In addition to well-maintained trails and a focus on participant amenities, the U.S. National Whitewater Center allows the WC-50 Ultra Trail Marathon races to lay claim as one of the most family and crew-friendly races in the nation. Full facilities, unique course access, and on-site entertainment combine to provide a truly interactive and exciting experience for those who support our competitors. We look forward to seeing you in October again this year. For all race details please visit WC-50 Ultra Trail Marathon.
