The Buck Ridge Burn

1100 Pine Grove Rd

Gardners , PA 5km , 13.1m

This Event Took Place Sun. Apr 6, 2014

The 5K participants will head out on the Buck Ridge Trail, a rutted, rolling double-track. They will then turn onto Leper Farm Road, a gravel back road with a ”nice” hill, before flying down the Daugherty Trail back to the park.

For those needing an extra challenge, burn your buns on the Half Marathon course. After a short jaunt up Old Shippensburg Rd., warm up on some beautiful, pine-covered trail. Then hit a twisty single track that connects to the Buck Ridge Trail and huff it up on the 3+mile ascent before connecting with the Hammond Rocks Trail and the stunning views of Piney Mountain and Pole Steeple. Test your grit on the truly grueling descent of a rocky ravine trail on your way to the grassy, rutted double-track of Mountain Creek Rd. Then wind your way back on a challenging single track before crossing Leper Farm Rd. Let it all out for the last 1.5 miles on the Daugherty Trail back to the Stack.

The Half Marathon Course will be marked with pink survey flags with our logo on them.
