We excited to announce that accomplished The North Face ultra runner, Stephanie Howe, will be this year's special guest athlete. Coming on the heels of running Ultra Trail Mont Blanc the previous weekend, Stephanie will be joining with up the Rock/Creek Women's Summit. Register while there are still spots!
2016 specifics have yet to be determined but participants may expect something very similar to last year, such as a TNF technical running tee, TNF quarter-zip pullover w/ embroidered Summit Logo, R/C branded swag, locally crafted Goodhew/Sockwell socks, nutrition/hydration samples, and the potential to demo TNF Ultra trail-running shoes w/ a "discounted" purchase option at the end of the weekend...and maybe some other surprises.
Sponsored by The North Face, The Rock/Creek Women’s Trail Running Summit will bring together a dedicated group of female trail runners who share a passion for running, the outdoors, and the promotion of an active life-style in their own communities. This event will be for everyone...from the beginner to the seasoned trail runner. Mileage will be determined according to ability, with short runs in the 4 to 6 mile range and longer around 10 to 12+ miles. The purpose of this weekend is for participants to inspire and learn from one another, foster new connections, improve female participation in trail running, and become ambassadors of the sport.
The weekend will be filled with exploring the trails in and around downtown Chattanooga, with runs to be held on the beautiful, lush trails of both Signal Mountain and Lookout Mountain.
The summit will be based out of The Crash Pad--a state of the art and eco-friendly hostel in downtown Chattanooga. Participants will have plenty of opportunities for an urban experience while, simultaneously, exploring the beautiful trails just minutes from their accommodations. Come run the Cumberland Plateau with The North Face and Rock/Creek!
The weekend will be guided by Rock/Creek race team members Dreama Campbell and Ginny Kelly with support from other Rock/Creek race team members as well as the staff and associated vendors of Rock/Creek.
Accommodations for the Rock/Creek Women's Trail Running Summit will be provided by the Crash Pad. Located in the energetic and revitalized Southside community of Chattanooga, the Crash Pad is THE 'base camp' for adventurous travelers and serious outdoor enthusiasts--catering specifically to climbing, biking, running, and kayaking in the area. Built out of reclaimed materials and renewable resources in order to minimize the impact on the environment, The Crash Pad is an LEED certified building and an eco-friendly business.
