RunforAmma Charity Run

The RunforAmma ultramarathon is an annual event to help raise awareness and money to aid in cutting edge research and alternative treatments for cancer. This is not a sanctioned race; it is a supported run through some of the best trails in the Open Space Preserve system of the Peninsula and South Bay Area. Donations will benefit the Dana Farber Cancer Institute - the largest cancer research organization in the United States. The run is dedicated to loved ones who are battling cancer and to memorialize those who have passed.

The Route

The run will start and end in Cupertino (near Rancho San Antonio OSP), and will feature running on the beautiful trails of the Santa Cruz Mountains. We will run through Rancho San Antonio OSP, Skyline OSP, Russian Ridge OSP, Windy Hill OSP, Coal Creek OSP and Los Trancos OSP. Each of the run distances have a safe and easily accessible pickup/drop-off location with place to park and wait with other runners and crew.

Aid stations will be located at the start, miles 13, 18, 24, 31, 35, 41, 44, 50. The course will not be marked, but will follow well known trails in the above mentioned preserves. If you will run with a smartphone or nav unit, download the GPX file of the route before the race. There will be printed maps available at each of the aid stations.

Supporting the Cause

Everyone involved in the RunforAmma is a friend of someone who is affected by cancer (it may even be you). My hope is that you are a survivor and that you will join us to celebrate life and love that is meant to be shared. Everyone has memories to share; we can remember our loved ones and honor them with this day of running. All donors, runners and volunteers will be invited to a post-run party to celebrate life and reminisce about our loved ones.

Donations can be made online at www.runforamma.com/donate. 100% of your tax-deductible donation will go to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

Is My Registration Fee Tax Deductible?

No. The registration fee subsidizes the cost of putting on the event and expenses for aid station food and drink. Personalized t-shirts will be offered this year for those making a tax-deductible contribution to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Info on how to order your personalized t-shirt will be posted in January to the website at runforamma.com.

All runners and volunteers are encouraged to also make a tax-deductible donation at www.runforamma.com/donate.
