The 3rd annual "Kingman Kong Runathon" (50K, 25K, 10K, and 5K) will be held in Kingman, KS and the rural areas south and east of the city on Saturday November 5,2016. All proceeds will benefit Main Place Youth- a non-profit organization located in Kingman whose mission and passion is to change live of teenage girls and restore families. If you've run in these hills before as a training run, you know how beautiful and challenging they are. If you've never been out here, you are in for a treat!
The race starts near the east edge of Kingman at the Covenant Assembly of God Church. Indoor/outdoor space with restrooms, and gathering areas to cater to every runner participating. The start line will be on the east edge of the church parking lot and will head east for a brief stretch through town before heading into the beautiful rural areas of Kingman County. Maps will be posted to our Facebook page with aid station locations marked.
Think Kansas is flat? Think again. The road quickly turns to red dirt where you'll encounter challenging, never ending hills. The hills are difficult, but the beautiful vistas and country scenery are second to none!
Post-race food and beverages with plenty of space to stretch out indoors or out, relax and celebrate your accomplishment with fellow "Kingman Kongers".
Race Start Times
This year all races will begin at 8:30 am sharp. The 50K is two loops of the 25K course.
Sunrise is 7:55 a.m. and sunset is 6:30 p.m., so headlamps should not be necessary.
There will be 11 aid stations for the 50K (6 fully manned, 4 water/sport drink only, and limited aid at the start/finish turnaround). They range from appx 2.5-3.1 miles apart. The fully manned aid stations will be staffed with experienced and enthusiastic volunteers, and will be stocked with water, sports drink, bananas, oranges, pretzels, chips, crackers, and many other food items unique to each station.
The 25K course will have 5 aid stations. 3 fully manned, and 2 water/sports drink only.
The 10K course will have 3 aid stations serving water. The aid station at the turnaround point will have sports drink and water.
The 5K course will have 1 water aid station at the turnaround point.

Drop Bags/Crew Access
Drop bag service is available to runners in the 25K and 50K races. The bags will be placed at the fully manned aid station at the turnaround point for the 25K. (appx 7.8 mi).
The 50K runners will run the loop twice, so you will have access to the same bag on your second loop at appx 23.3 miles We will also have an area at the start/finish for the 50K runners to have a drop bag available to access before you start your second loop, so you will have a total of 3 spots to access a drop bag.
All drop bags must be put in the designated area by 8 am, and must be marked with runner name, location, and bib#. We will do our best to get every drop bag out to the turnaround in time, but we cannot guarantee it, so plan accordingly. Drop bags will be returned as soon as possible to the finish line for runner pickup, but there may be a wait for your bags to arrive after you finish. Any bags left behind or forgotten will not be returned.
Crew access will be available at the fully manned aid stations. A map will be posted at a later date to the Facebook and web page with a map of the route the crews will need to take to access the aid stations.

Packet pickup TBA, but planned for Wichita locations on Thursday and Friday 11/3-4. Race day packet pickup will be available from 7 am-8 am on race morning. Coffee and water will be available at the start. There will be a pre race briefing at 8:15 a.m for the all races so be sure to be present for these to get important instructions.
Parking is *NOT* available at the start/finish. We have parking available approximately 4 blocks from the start. (volunteers will be out on race morning to help direct you to the parking area) at the Kingman Middle School-607 N Spruce. (North side of highway). There is a crosswalk with a light there. To get to the start walk south to C Street, then proceed east to the church at C Street and Covenant. Please be considerate of the residents near the start area and do not block their streets or driveways!!
There will be no refunds or bib transfers.
In the event of a race cancellation due to weather, no refunds will be given.
50K runners have a 8 hour cutoff to complete the race. All 50K runners must reach the 25K turnaround by 3.5 hours to continue. Intermediate cutoffs may be added to the 50K race at the RD' s discretion and will be communicated to you in the final instructions.
