New Course For 2016!
This year's marathon course is two laps of a drunk figure eight loop, including a section of trail by a hidden lake most visitors haven't seen. The course is very runnable, featuring a few hills. The race begins at 8 am at the Visitors' Center in Sweetwater Creek State Park (packet pick-up at 7am) to the White Trail, down Jack's Hill, then turns up to the ridge and lake. From there, you'll cut over to an older trail which drops back down to the White Trail, just above the stairs. You'll pass the famous mill ruins, and hit the aid station by the Yellow Trail bridge at 6 miles. The course continues on older park trails past the Balloon Graveyard, and loops back to the Yellow/Orange Trails. You'll pass the aid station again around mile 12, on the way back to the Visitors' Center for your second lap.
There is an eight hour time limit.
