This event is open to DoD ID-Card Holders only. Active Duty, Reserve, Guard, Retired, DoD Civilian, Contractor, etc. Bottom Line: In order to access the starting line at Dodge Gym, you must be able to get on base (either escorted by another person doing the triathlon or with your own DOD ID). If you do not have a valid issued identification card YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON BASE FOR THE START OF THE RACE.

Race Overview

This event will be staged out of the Dodge Gym on Area A at Wright Patterson AFB, OH. Parking is located in front of the gym off of Lahm Circle, or in the large parking lot on the airfield side of the gym across Skeel Avenue. The race will begin with the 500 meter swim in the indoor pool, with each heat consisting of 10 athletes. Following the swim, athletes will complete the 20 kilometer bike portion on a down-and-back route following the road around the airfield. The triathlon concludes with a 5 kilometer run following a down-and-back rubberized trail, with the trailhead at the south end of the Skeel Avenue parking lot. Following the race, athletes can enjoy complimentary food and drink. Award medals will be given to the top three finishers in the mens individual, womens individual, and team categories.

ATHLETE AMENITIES

-The bike route will have an aid station with water at the turnaround point.
-The running route will have an aid station with water at the turnaround point.
-Sandwiches, Gatorade, etc will be available at the Skeel Avenue parking lot for athletes who have finished their races.
-Two medical personnel will be on hand with a medical Gator for any issue that may arise.
-Restrooms available in Dodge Gym.
