About the event
> Now entering its second year, the Run for Pompey (http://runforpompey.com/) commemorates the greatest hero and civil rights leader in Bahamian history. Pompey, a slave living on the island of Exuma, sparked a rebellion in 1830 that is widely seen as the first significant act of disobedience against the trade in the region. Today, Run for Pompey brings together runners, philanthropists and modern day heroes from around the world, to celebrate civil rights, education and the unrivaled beauty of Exuma in the Bahamas.
