Waitlist registration for the 2018 SD 100 is now open and will remain open until April 15, 2018 since the field limit of 300 has been reached. Qualified applicants may now register for the waitlist by selecting the "Register"" button above. Waitlisted runners will be sent an invitation to complete their entry and payment once a slot becomes available. Invited waitlisted runners then have 3 days to accept or decline the invitation.

A 75% refund ($200) is offered for registered entrants who decide to withdraw prior to March 1 using paypal, a 50% refund ($140) is offered for those who contact the RD from March 1 through April 1. There are no refunds, rollovers, or transfers after April 1. Please read the entire race web site prior to registering (www.sandiego100.com).

Location

The 2018 race start and finish area is located at south parking of Lake Cuyamaca Recreation Area which is located 9 miles southwest of Julian, CA on state Hwy 79. All runners are reminded the 2018 event will start at 6:00am PDT on Friday, June 8, 2018 with the completion cutoff of 32 hours ending at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 9, 2018.

Description:

The San Diego 100 course is a 90% single track mountain course which covers four recreational areas in the east county mountains of San Diego. The 2018 start and finish area are located at the south parking area of Lake Cuyamaca Recreational Area.  The course includes trails traversing sections of the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT), Noble Canyon, the Cuyamaca and the Anza Borrego State Parks, and Mt Laguna Recreational Areas. A very challenging course with approximately 26,000' feet of total elevation change (13k climb & 13k descent) with a 32 hour time limit. Selected runners must agree to the strictly enforced limit of one crew vehicle which includes any pacers that are helping the runner.

Qualification to Apply

As a requisite to apply, applicants must have completed a 50 mile ultra race in under 13 hours between the dates of January 1, 2016 to April 1, 2018. Applicants who have completed a 100K or a 100 mile within the time limits of that race within the last two years are also qualified to enter. Applicants are also required to perform 6 hours of trail maintenance as a volunteer or 6 hours of volunteer service at another ultra or other community service from between June 1, 2017 to June 1, 2018. Those who do not complete the volunteer requirement will not be allowed to participate in the race.

SOLO Division

The 2018 event will again have a Solo Division to recognize all runners who opt to run the entire race without the support of a crew or pacers with spectators only allowed to meet Solo runners at the start and finish line. All finishing Solo runners will receive special awards to include a unique belt buckle. Solo runners will have to rely on their drop bags and the aid stations for all support. Solo runners are allowed to run with other registered runners but must rely on themselves (drop bags) and aid station volunteers throughout the entire race.
