About the event

Please join me for a fun 5K race to support Brain cancer research. My sister was diagnosed with Anaplastic Astrocytoma stage III about three years ago. She has had her ups and downs but she is doing amazing. Her cancer care has all been through her team of Doctors at the Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NY. In March I was able to spend sometime with her when she renewed her wedding vows. She asked me to run the New York Marathon with her. Without hesitation I said YES! My sister has always been an amazing runner. She qualified for the Boston marathon when she was 30 and she has been my idol. She has a goal to run one more marathon and her team of Doctors said to go for it. In order to get into the New York Marathon I had to join a charity group. I of course joined FRED’S TEAM. It is a fundraising group for Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. I pledged to raise $3,500 with my funds going towards Brain Cancer research.
