About the event
Want to run your FIRST Ultra? Your FASTEST Ultra? Your EASIEST Ultra? Join us on July 21st for Maria's Ultra Summer Spectacular! We all know how annoying it is that on Maria's Trail 40 laps is 26 miles - JUST SHORT of a full marathon. But..... 41 laps is technically, technically, an ultra! (41 laps is 26.65 miles, making it .43 miles longer than a full marathon!) So if you can run a marathon, you too can become an ultra runner!!
We will have a killer aid station, plenty of fluids, music, and a lot of fun with family and friends! We will have overall winner awards, though there will be a comfortable time limit for those that want to take their time (7 hours). And of course finisher medals!
The race will be limited to only 50 people so we do expect a pretty quick sellout! Plan on spending a fun summer morning with us on Maria's trail!
The aid station is located just past the start/finish line. It will have all the usual ultra fare and stays fully stocked the entire time. Cold water and powerade is also available.
Portojohns are 300 ft further down the trail and adjacent to the office building (It's approx. 20 yds off the trail)
The trail is flat and not technical at all. There is a combination of dirt packed trail and natural trail, along with a couple of short wooden bridges that you cross. We will run the loop counter-clockwise the entire time.
Awards will be given to the overall male/female winners in the 3 and 6 hour options, as well as the fastest male/female in the 26.65 miler. All finishers will receive finisher medals.
For GPS use, please use 1940 Lodge Rd, Kennesaw. This takes you to the complex but NOT the actual parking lot. Once you turn onto Lodge Rd please take your first right into the parking lot, and that is where you can park. You will see the lake behind the building (Building 2).
Local time: 6:42 AM
All number pickup and check in will be at the start/finish, which is on the North side of the lake (This is the closest side to parking)
You are welcome to set up tents, canopies, tables, etc. in the giant grassy area adjacent the start area (It is in between the start line and the aid station). PLEASE be sure to pack out what you pack in; we are given special permission to use this trail and we want to be respectful of that.
