Meeting Time and Location
Our first program meeting is June 12, 2010 at 8:00 AM. We meet at: William Pond Park 5699 Arden Way (The Entrance Address) Sacramento, CA 95608 We'll begin the morning with your registration confirmation and morning agenda in the main meeting area next to the Parkway Trail. Then, we’ll go for a short run or walk to find the perfect pace group for you. So bring your running or walking shoes! Food and drinks will be available during the morning.
Description
The Sacfit 2010 Summer/Fall Half Marathon and Full Marathon Training Program offers safe and sensible running and walking programs for all fitness levels. Whether you're a beginner wanting to run or walk your first half or full marathon or a veteran runner looking to improve your time or qualify for Boston, we have a program that's right for you.
For the beginning runner or walker, we help you gradually establish a great fitness to either improve your overall fitness and/or inspire you to consider participating in a race like a half marathon or even a full marathon. It is possible and we’re here to help you get there!
For the more advance runner, we provide a challenging program that will improve your base and enhance you speed to ultimately help you meet a time goal for a half marathon or full marathon, and maybe even qualify for Boston! Hey, it happens every year in our group!
The 26-week season includes opportunities to participate in various 5K and 10K races along the way towards competing in half marathon or full marathon, or both!. The specific half marathon we train for is the Urban Cow Half Marathon and the marathon we train for is the CIM. But there are opportunities to train and modify the program for other races as well.
Directions to William Pond Park
From Highway 50 West or East:
Take Watt Ave. exit North. Turn right onto Fair Oaks Blvd. and travel 2.5 miles. Turn right onto Arden Way and travel 1 mile. Enter William Pond Park and park in first main parking lot. We'll see you there!.
Fees and Other Information
$110 for new members. $90 for returning members
Be ready for a short run or walk. Drinks and snacks will be served. Come on out and join us.
Additional Registration Option
In-person registration is available. Just arrive a little before 8:00 AM. We accept checks and cash. Sorry, no credit cards for in-person registration.
