Coronavirus update: I am pausing registration until we have been cleared to host the race. Standhope, as of this point, is NOT cancelled. We have spent virtually none of the registration fees. In case the event is cancelled, we will ask you if you want a refund or if you want to donate it to charity. We will make a final decision on whether to hold the race or not by June 1st. Luckily, the course is still there. Continue training! -Ben Blessing, RD
Local time: 12:09 PM
A very difficult and exceptionally beautiful run through the Pioneer Mountains. Entrants will reach a high point of 11,000' during the course of the race. Entry should NOT be taken lightly. This race is an excellent trainer for any high-altitude 50 or 100 Miler. Runners will receive a unique award for finishing this event. Our major goal in 2020 is to raise $3,000 for the ARPKD/CHF Alliance. We've raised $11,000 since 2015!
30K OPTION: This will take place over the last half of the 60K, and is no joke. Please do not sign up for this event unless you are prepared for a long, tough day in the mountains. With an average vertical climb of 325' per mile and the added challenge of traversing remote terrain this race will challenge even the best athletes. ALL your aid is hiked in. Runners typically take four to six hours to finish this incredible 30 Km race. Much like the Sarlacc from "Return of the Jedi," you will find a new definition of pain and suffering, only maybe not over the course of 1,000 years.
