Introducing The Knobstone Knockout

Friends - We have agonized over a decision for the last 48 hours, while at the same time consulting with all local and state government agencies as to a best course of action. Today we spoke with the Governors office, and the Mayor of Louisville's office, seeking guidance.

We are all runners and compassionately understand the desire to complete the race on the date that we trained towards. We wish that we could make it so. However, the situation with the COVID-19 virus is one that calls for our action as a community. Our resolve has to be focused on limiting transmission of the disease immediately. As a result we feel that it is in the best interest of everyone to re-schedule the race(s) to a later date, when health officials feel that the threat from the virus has been minimized.

We will continue to communicate with everyone as to when that may be held. Our hopes are for late April, but picking a date at this moment feels to be a frivolous action. In the meantime we will offer a Virtual option as well as deferment to another DCT Race.

We feel confident that we are doing the right thing for our community. We are a very small business that completely relies on Timing/Racing for our livelihoods. We hope that you understand the urgency of the situation as well as our remorse over having to re-schedule an event that we working hard to prepare.

The Knobstone Knockout is an out-and-back trail race on the Knobstone Trail - the longest trail in Indiana that traverses the Knobstone Escarpment. Starting and ending on the sandy beach at Deam Lake, the Knobstone Trail's relentless climbs and descents are sure to test your resolve. Reach your turnaround point to grab the first half of your finisher's medal. Carry it back to the beach to earn your second, interlocking half.
