Overview
The Roxbury Half-Marathon is a hilly, no-frills foot-race that is run over some of the roads used by the Roxbury Races annual series (about 40 races from February into early December each year).
The entry fee is $20 to cover costs.
There are no refunds for cancellations.
Course
The Roxbury Half-Marathon course is a hilly mixture of paved and dirt roads in rural Roxbury, Connecticut.
Part One - Judds Bridge out & back (~9.6 miles)
From Hurlburt Park, head East on Apple Lane. Turn left on South Street. Turn right on Wellers Bridge Road and immediately turn left on Route 67. Turn right on Route 199. Turn left on Judds Bridge Road. After crossing over the actual "Judds Bridge", turn right on Walker Bridge Road. Turn around at the cones, and retrace your steps back to the start line.
Part Two - Hemlock Loop (~3.5 miles)
Continue past the start line on Apple Lane, going West. Turn right on Rocky Mountain Road. Cross over Wellers Bridge Road straight to Hemlock Road. Turn right on Route 67. Turn right on Wellers Bridge Road, and immediately turn left on South Street. Turn right on Apple Lane, and proceed to the Finish Line, which is the same as the Start Line.
Weather
The Roxbury Half-Marathon is scheduled for late fall in southern New England. Temperatures are likely to be cool to cold. Though not likely, snow is possible. In case of dangerous weather, the race may be postponed or cancelled.
