Pre Registration

The Cruel Jewel 100 mile event requires pre-qualification.  You should have run ANY 100 mile trail race in the last 18 months OR a qualifing 50 mile trail race. We want to be sure you understand the punishment you are signing up for!!

Description

The Cruel Jewel 100 is a 108 mile foot race deep with in the beautiful Chattahoochee National Forest of the North Georgia Mountains. It consists of 96 miles of trails, 12 miles of mountain roads, and 20 aid stations. Along your journey from Vogel State Park to Blue Ridge and back, you will experience tough, and sometimes technical, single track trails, ferns and old growth poplar trees, steep ascents and even steeper descents, an historic steel bridge spanning the Toccoa River, the Dragon's Spine, lush green hardwood forests, rocks, roots and ridge lines ... all of which will be passed before you reach your final destination. And as a bonus we have thrown in 31,000 feet of gain and 31,000 feet of loss just to keep it interesting !!

The Cruel Jewel 100 is laid out for tough and experienced trail runners; therefore, there will be qualifications and requirements to be eligible for entry and strict cut off times at all aid stations put in place for your safety.

This event starts at NOON on FRIDAY, MAY 15 at VOGEL STATE PARK!!

We understand that not everyone is cut out or ready for the CRUEL JEWEL 100, so for these runners we are offering a 50 mile option. The Cruel Jewel 50  is a point to point 56 mile trail race deep with in the beautiful Chattahoochee National Forest of the North Georgia Mountains. It consists of 50 miles of trails, 6 miles of mountain roads, and has 10 aid stations. Along your journey from Blue Ridge to Vogel State Park you will experience tough, and sometimes technical, single track trails, ferns and old growth poplar trees, steep ascents and even steeper descents, an historic steel bridge spanning the Toccoa River, the Dragon's Spine, lush green hardwood forests, rocks, roots and ridge lines ... all of which will be passed before you reach your final destination. And as a bonus we have thrown in 17,000 feet of gain and 17,000 feet of loss just to keep you smiling !!

This event starts at 8AM on SATURDAY, MAY 16 at CAMP MORGANTON!!
