Because of record level snow pack in the Carson Range this 2017 winter were the Tahoe Rim Trail Endurance Runs takes place; we are moving the training run venue to Carson City. The training start and finish will be at Western Nevada College. From the college parking lot you will wind up single track trails leading to the Ash/Kings connector trail. A beautiful single track trail taking you to Kings Canyon Road. You will then climb up Kings Canyon Road to Spooner Summit. That will be the turnaround point and double back the same route. Total milage is expected to be 35 miles.
With it being a out and back each runner will be able to manage the milage they want to run. Course marking and aid stations will be provided. At least 70 ounces fluids is a must as aid stations are likely to be 7-10 miles apart.
2017 Training Runs
One day only June 11, 2017.
Run to start at 7:00 am.
Limited to 150 runners. First come first serve.
There will be two aid stations. One the trail head where the Ash/Kings connector trail merges to Kings Canyon Road and one at the top of Kings Canyon Road at the turnaround. Mileage to the first stop is 7.5 miles and then 8 miles to the turnaround. We recommend that each runner bring at least two water bottles or a bladder system that carries a minimum of 70 ounces.
Please note that our aid stations are fairly stripped down affairs and not full service. Plan to self support with water and some snacks available at these locations.
The $40 fee is required to insure that we have adequate food and fluids at our aid stations. The registration fee covers permitting expenses plus both aid station food/beverages and end of the run refreshments. A local food truck will also be on site to satisfy your post run hunger.
