Big Cedar Endurance Run was the first 100 mile trailrunning event in North Texas! Now join us for our third year!

The race takes place at the highest point in the city of Dallas, Prayer Mountain, which is home to the Big Cedar Wilderness Trail system. With rolling hills, the trails offer up some pretty views on a clear day. The Big Cedar trails are primarily wooded but have field segments as well. Terrain is varied with mostly single track dirt trail that has some rocky bits and some rooty bits and a little ATV trail.

This race has quickly become recognized as a tough local race, with 100 starters the last two years in the 100 miler, but only 12 finishers. In 2014, what was already a technical course became incredibly difficult with lots of rain turning the course into Texas clay mud - 12 of 61 finished the 100 miler that year. In 2015, it rained for 24 hours straight, with thunderstorms, and then in the evening, after dark, the race had flash flooding to the point where runners encountered chest deep water. That led to the 2015 event being cancelled. THIRD TIME IS THE CHARM! Good weather ahead for 2016, but no matter what, your finish will go down as one of the few to have happened for this race!

The course is a one-way traffic 16.67-mile loop.
100 Mile: 6 x 16.67-mile loops.
50 Mile: 3 x 16.67-mile loops.
50K: 2 x 16.67-mile loops.
Half Marathon: 1 x a shortened 14-mile loop.

Local time: 1:19 PM
