This Event Took Place Sat. Aug 5, 2017

Description

A very difficult and exceptionally beautiful run through the Pioneer Mountains.  Entrants will reach a high point of 11,000' during the course of the race.  Entry should NOT be taken lightly. This race is an excellent trainer for any high-altitude 50 or 100 Miler.  Runners will receive a unique award for finishing this event. Our major goal in 2018 is to raise $3,000 for the ARPKD/CHF Alliance. We've raised $8,000 since 2015!

30K OPTION: This will take place over the last half of the 60K, and is no joke. Please do not sign up for this event unless you are prepared for a long, tough day in the mountains. With an average vertical climb of 325' per mile and the added challenge of traversing remote terrain this race will challenge even the best athletes. ALL your aid is hiked in. Runners typically take four to six hours to finish this incredible 30 Km race. Much like the Sarlacc from "Return of the Jedi," you will find a new definition of pain and suffering, only maybe not over the course of 1,000 years.

2018 Stage Race

We definitely have plans to bring the Stage Race back in 2018. This will be a three day affair starting Thursday August 2nd. Day one will be a 22 mile loop circling Gray's Peak. Day Two will include Lake Fork/High Ridge Trail like the first year of the stage race. Day Three will be the infamous 60K. All in all, about 70 miles with about 22K of climb. Oorah!
