About the Event
Come party with us at The Hamsterwheel! This is the FIFTH crazy year for this 6/12/24/30 hour event! Starting near the Hillsborough County Fairground entrance, runners will make their way outward (1.55 mi each way) on the New Boston Rail Trail along the Piscataquog River to the turnaround point at Lang's Station. Runners will return on that trail and turn right onto the gravel service road that runs the perimeter of the fairgrounds. The continuous loop is 3.97 miles in total and is largely flat with one minor speedbump....it's scenic and gentle on the legs....A great opportunity for someone looking to try ultrarunning for the first time or for seasoned runners to see just how many miles they can accomplish....
Loop tracking will be handled manually by the staff at the Start/Finish. To ensure an accurate total, runners should post their bibs to the FRONT of their bodies (shirt/shorts/pants) and the number should be clearly visible. Runners will be asked to announce their number to the staff as they enter the Start/Finish area at each lap.
Heck yeah!! Come run 100 fun miles individually with us and you get the special Hamsterwheel belt buckle with the Zombie red eyes!!
Pull off 100 with a team and we even have a buckle for you! It's all about the buckle baby!!
TEAM ENTRY!! Now you can have a team to run the time of your choice! Team Leaders will register the team and enter the email addresses for each team member. They will then receive a link to register themselves on the team. Payment will be managed by each team member at time of registration. Come and party with us all night long with your friends!! Wear costumes, set up a fun themed aid station, make the Wheel all your own!
PACERS & CREW & DOGS. Pacers will NOT be allowed for the 6 hour event. 12 and 24 hour entrants can use a pacer after dark (Starting at 5pm) if they wish. Just one pacer at a time with each runner, please. Pacers/Crew may by a food ticket either when the runner signs up for the race or tickets will be available on race day. Dogs will NOT be allowed on the grounds or to participate in the run. Tents and small pop-up tents and canopies ARE allowed - Please note that Quiet hours are 11pm - 7am.
Aid Station / Food / Drop Bags
We will have one central aid station at the Start/Finish and will be supplying a variety of Water, NUUN, Tailwind, Sodas / Fruits / Energy Gels / Food, etc. For the 6/12/24/30 hour runners, we'll have some lunch/dinner options (TBD) (real food - Last year we had soups, pizza, and of course, our world famous Mac and Cheese and Apple Crisp!!) and 24/30 hr runners, you also get breakfast in the morning! If you have a specific need that you'd like to have at the run, you may provide a clearly labeled drop bag that we will keep at the Aid Station for you.
We will have portable toilets available at the Start/Finish area of the race as well as one placed midway on the course out along the service road.
The course will be marked with easily viewable signs and flags and the turn around on the New Boston Rail trail will be clearly marked.
