Event Info

The race is held in the Oldman River valley of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. One loop is 54 km with approximately 1,200m (3,600 feet) of elevation incline and the same decline. Most of the hills will be in the range of 150-250 feet in size and you will hit about 16 of those in one loop.

The 100 mile (33-hour cutoff) and 100 km (21-hour cutoff) events start Friday morning. The 100 km event is one of the few Western States 100 qualifiers in North America (WS requires you to finish under 21 hours). Note that 100 mile racers can earn a qualification if they finish 2 loops (107km) under 21 hours AND they finish the 100 mile race. The 50 km (actually closer to 54 km) will go Saturday morning with an 11-hour limit. The newly added 200km event will have a 35-hour limit with possible extension to 36 hours. This will be 4 laps of the course, minus the north loop on your last lap.

The toughest race on the prairies (and voted “best aid stations in the universe”) includes an awesome swag garment, finisher ROCK (special for the 20th anniversary), and awards breakfast ticket for Sunday. Age group awards are an etched river rock of at least 15 lbs.
