100 mi has 5 utmb points and 50 mi has 3 points
cutoff time is 24hrs for 100 miles. limit to 25 runners The course is a single100 miles epic loop around beautiful San Diego with no repeat section. This is a fat ass event. There will be no awards, shirts or buckle. I will collect $20 of fee just to cover water and some food. I will setup some basic Aid Stations (most likely just me and my Subaru) to provide water, food and cheers, runners usually like my station though :-) . You do need to bring your own food, supplies and gear to carry with you throughout the race (you can leave a small drop bag in my car). The course is a hybrid of roads and trails, by day you are touring the city, jogging along the beach, at night you run the trail and climb the mountains. If you can not finish the 100 miles loop, you will need to plan/arrange your own transportation back to starting point. There will be no shuttle. There will be no course mark. You will need to navigate and stay on course based on the route maps I provided below. This is very important! Some runners told me during the race that they had zero navigation practice and just loaded my course to phone/watch the day before. They might hope to impress me, well I was not! It simply showed how terrible they were as runners. If you want to sign up this race, please be prepared!
This is not a race for everyone, definitely not a race you can just sign up and run, you will NOT finish it if you do that. It's a 100 mile with around 10K ft ups and downs. Don't let that mellow elevation gains fool you, with the tight cutoff, no course mark and very few aid stations, it's a race as tough as you can get from any of 100 miler. To sign up, you'll need to be a good runner and also be willing to train hard for it, read on.
#1 run fast, no hikers. you'll need able to run 100 miles in one day
#2 self-reliance, no cry babies, aid stations are 20K-50K away
#3 know the ways to run, literally and figuratively
No refund, no transfer.
