Haig Point presents Fleet Feet Daufuskie Island Ultra Marathon
The Daufuskie Island Ultra offers three different distances!
Local time: 8:00 PM
13.1, 26.2, 39.3 - half-marathon, marathon, triple half-marathon
The course is USATF certified for 13.1, 26.2 and 39.3 miles, making it a qualifier for other marathons nation-wide.
The course follows many of the highlights of Daufuskie Island such as Haig Point Lighthouse, Freeport, Daufuskie Marsh Tacky Society, Tabby Circle overlooking the Atlantic and, the famous "Painted Houses" off Driftwood Cottage lane.
Consider making this a weekend getaway runcation so that you may have time to explore this lovely, rustic island.
Food and refreshments are provided free for all registered runners.
Food is available to spectators for a small fee.
Beer will be available for sale.
Live music provided throughout the day.
All finisher’s get a beautiful medal that represents the cultural and wildlife of Daufuskie Island.
Complimentary medal engraving: your name and finish time
All registered runners will get a light cloud windbreaker jacket.
The top male and female of each race will have their names, race and finish times engraved on bicks which line the walkway at Daufuskie Island Historical Foundation’s museum.
The top 3 male and female of each race will receive wall hanging trophies for their accomplishments
Haig Point will provide one free night at the Strachan mansion or lighthouse to the 1st place male and female of each race distance (13.1, 26.2 and 39.3 miles)!
Mr. Chase Allen of Iron Fish Gallery will provide 3 metallic turtle sculptures to the three overall winners! This is quite a GIFT as Mr. Allen’s artwork is heavily sought after!
The Indigo Girls of Daufuskie Island will award three beautiful wraps to the first place female in the 13.1, 26.2 and 39.3 mile distances.
Lance Burn of Silver Dew Pottery will award a beautiful ceramic platter with a turtle art.
Also, 11 hand made shucking knives made by Mr. Michael Loftus of Daufuskie Wine and Wood Works will be awarded to some runners! These knives retail for $90 each.
The beneficiary of 2020 race will be the Daufuskie Island Conservancy.
