There’s no better time than now to catch the spirit — of Christmas, that is! The residents of Hampshire County are asked to support one of their own by participating in the Catch the Spirit 5K run/walk on Saturday, Dec. 22, in Capon Bridge.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the family of Roland Bland, a 49-year-old Army veteran whose home was lost to a catastrophic fire earlier this month. Bland shared the home with his fiancé, Shannon Wood, and their two daughters, ages 11 and 15.
The event will start at 11 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church on Smoky Hollow Road. Race-day registration and packet pick-up will begin at 9:30 a.m. Entry fee is $15 per person. Additional donations also will be accepted.
