About the event
This half marathon extends from U.S. 119 near Whitesburg, KY to the Kingdom Come State Park by way of the Little Shepherd Trail. This race along the crest of the Pine Mountain winds through some of the most remarkable highland forests of Eastern Kentucky and Southwest Virginia. This adventurous road race encounters over 2,000 ft of change in elevation over its 13.1 miles as it showcases the best of the Pine Mountain State Scenic Trail
