WE ALLOW REGISTRATION TRANSFERS!
If you are registered and need to drop out, we understand that things in life happen. You do have the option of to transfer your registration to a new participant if requested before September 1st.
If you want to change races, you can drop down for no charge. If moving up, you will pay the difference between the registration fee you already paid (not including processing fee), and what the current registration fee is.
If you would like to defer until the next year, 75% of your registration fee will be deferred.
There are no registration refunds. After September 1st, if transferring to another runner, there is no guarantee on item sizes available. Contact Trevor Darmstetter at trevord@goracetiming.com if you need to transfer.

Are you a current doctor, medic, firefighter, or police officer? If so, would you like the possibility of a free entry into the 100 mile race? We are looking for one person currently trained for emergency situations to help be another set of eyes on the course. We will waive your entry fee with the understanding that if you see something happen to a runner on the course, you stop your race and set aside your goals to help that runner and contact us. On a loop course like this, the chances are very slim that anything would happen along the course, but runner safety is our top priority. If you would like to be considered for this, please contact Trevor Darmstetter at trevord@goracetiming.com

About

In the entire US, the Ad Astra per Ultra is one of only 10 record eligible 100K races. Kansas is now one of only four states to have a certified and record eligible 100 mile race, joining Minnesota, North Carolina, and Texas. For many of the states surrounding Kansas, this is the only USATF Certified, fixed distance ultra.

The state motto of Kansas is Ad Astra per Aspera. Translated to English as "To the stars through difficulty." There are few phrases that can sum up an ultramarathon more eloquently. Completing an ultramarathon is never easy, but it is always the difficulties in life that make us better. If it was easy, then ultrarunners would make up more than 0.021% of Americans. As Kansans and ultrarunners ourselves, we know how rewarding it is to work through all of the difficulties associated with an ultra as you make your way to the stars.

With a great loop course, fully stocked aid station, and top notch event items, the Ad Astra per Ultra is one of the Midwest's finest road ultras. If you are new and looking for a great first ultra, wanting to run a fast time, appear in theKansas Road Running Records, or even qualify for a national or world team, then the Ad Astra per Ultra is the race for you!

Course

The course is a single loop 2.2033 km paved course through Derby High Park. It is completely on a wide bike path, but please be aware that the general public could possibly be on the course. The start of each race will be a partial portion of the course to get it to the exact distance. Once you enter the finish chute on each lap, you will need to continue all the way out of the chute without stopping. This is to ensure that we get a proper lap count for you so that we can have the most accurate results possible.

Aid station

The aid station will be fully stocked with traditional ultramarathon items. Foods will include various fruits, boiled salted potatoes, potato chips, rice crispy treats, candy, Oreos, and more! There will be water, soda, and sports drink supplied throughout the race along with S! Caps. If you have a specific food or drink preference, please feel free to bring it for yourself.
