Tybee FatBum 55k

Park in the large parking lot in North Tybee Island (in between North Beach Bar and Grill and, the Atlantic Ocean). You are responsible for your own parking fees which must be paid until 8:00 pm.

Follow the northern most boardwalk from the parking lot to the beach and go north until you see the rock jetty. That's where the run will officially begin at 4:00 pm. You may start earlier if you wish to finish earlier, -just make sure that your watch shows that you ran 34 miles on that day and, on the beach course.
Run south on the beach and when you get to the large pavillion pier go up it and run to the very end of it, running round the platform there at the end and then, run back to the jetty.

The distance from the rock jetty to the end of the pier and back to the jetty is 4.87 miles.
You will run that 7 times for a total of 34.09 miles (almost 55k).

What do I get for running this event? Really, you have to ask? Its a free run, bud! Be happy and enjoy the run! Jump in the ocean and frolic in the waves after the run and be thankful you're alive!

We'll send you a postcard...how about that? Just leave us 35 cents and we'll send you the postcard after the run. It'll have your finish time and place.
Oh, that reminds me...you're responsible for keeping your own time! Give us your finish time after the run and we'll post it under the results here on ultrasignup.

PS: you must use a red filter on your flashlight or headlamp when running at night on the beach! This is for the sea turtles sake! Seriously!
