Wildcard Friday info
Kick off the Dorset Running Festival with Wildcard Friday, a rotating 1-mile race. For 2020, we are going downhill!!!
Wildcard Friday is 100% free for all to attend. There is a suggested donation of $20 to Second Chance Animal Center. Fundraising link coming soon!
Course
After climbing a tiny bump to start, runners will find themselves dropping around 450' over one mile with a maximum grade of 15%, so hold on to your hat... The course is paved and features Vermont mountain views you'll be too busy to notice while you barrel downhill!
Race day info
There will be NO DAY-OF SIGNUPS!!! Sign up above and fill out the waiver or you can't run. No exceptions.
All participants must ride shuttles to and from the race from the parking area. There is no car access at the start, so all runners must park at the designated parking and take the shuttle to the start. Shuttles are free for runners and spectators.

Location: the field directly across the street from HN Williams General Store: 2732 VT-30, Dorset, VT 05251
Stop in the store to get breakfast, souvenirs, or literally anything you might need before or after the race!! It's a true Vermont General Store, so they have everything!
Dorset Running Festival
Wildcard Friday is day one of the Dorset Running Festival, three days of races in historic Dorset, Vermont. If the Downhill Mile alone isn't enough for you, join us on Saturday, August 22 for the Lost Cat 50k, marathon, & half marathon, a hilly road-to-trail race through East Dorset and past old quarries on Mount Aeolus; and Sunday, August 23 for the Dorset Hollow Road Race 5k & 10k, a scenic rolling road race through idyllic Dorset Hollow!
A portion of the proceeds for the Dorset Running Festival benefit Second Chance Animal Center. In lieu of an entry fee, Wildcard Friday has a suggested donation of $20 to Second Chance. Donations can be made at the race by cash or card and clean towels and all kinds of pet food are always enthusiastically accepted by our furry friends! Help us reach our goal of raising $10,000 for Second Chance through the 2020 Dorset Running Festival! Fundraising link coming soon!
