There are two registration options: single marathon registration with or without a race T-shirt ($10 additional for the T), and Black and Blue Double registration, which is a discounted entry into both the Blue Sky Trail Marathon and the Black Squirrel Half Marathon, which will take place on August 31. Welcome to the sixth running of the Blue Sky Trail Marathon, Fort Collins's original and only trail marathon.
Taking place on the trails between Horsetooth Mountain Park and the Devil’s Backbone Open Space, the course takes you on a north-south tour of the easternmost hogbacks of Northern Colorado's mighty Front Range. With over 3,300 feet of elevation gain and an equal amount of elevation loss, the route offers a little bit of something for everyone. It is designed to appeal to both veteran trail runners and those looking to experience their first trail racing adventure. The generous eight hour cut-off should ensure a successful day for everyone.
The course is 100% dirt and 90% sweet Colorado singletrack. The terrain ranges in difficulty from smooth dirt trail to technical rock gardens. A small portion of the route is on smooth dirt road (no motor vehicle access) and gravel bike path, with the meat of the running done on the beautiful and distinctive redstone hardpack of the Blue Sky Trail.

There will be four aid stations located along the half marathon course and eight along the marathon course. All aid stations will have water, Succeed! Ultra drink mix, and S! Caps

The Towers Rd aid station and Blue Sky aid station will be minimally stocked with water, Succeed! Ultra drink, S! Caps, and first aid supplies.
The Start/Finish, Indian Summer North, and Indian Summer South aid stations will have water, Succeed! Ultra drink, S! Caps, and a variety of sweet and salty snacks (chips, pretzels, fruit, etc.).
All aid stations will be manned with numerous volunteers to assist you with your race.
