You're invited to join a growing community of runners at the beautiful
Blackwater River Forest Bear Lake area for the 2nd annual Bear Bait
Ultramarathon and Fun Run. Challenge yourself to one of our 50M, 50km, and
25km distance runs. The course offers a relatively flat terrain on mostly
single track trail promising some fast times and an enjoyable running
experience for both the competitive and casual runner.
With a lap distance of 4 miles, the 50M runners can expect to contend
with a grueling 13 laps, while 50km runners will traverse 8 laps, and 25km runners
will enjoy a leisurely 4 laps around the perimeter of Bear Lake.
An aid station will mark the start/end of each 4 mile lap and will be
stocked with Hammer Nutrition HEED & Gels, water, fresh fruit, M&M's,
pretzels, etc. Every participant will receive an official Bear Bait shirt.
Awards will be given to recognize the top 3 finishers in the 50M, 50km, and
25km overall. There will be food and beverages provided after the race
for all participants at the Bear Lake pavilion
Camping at Bear Lake is on a first come/first serve basis and will be an
additional charge upon arrival at Bear Lake. The entrance to Bear Lake is
at the intersection of Hwy 4 and Bear Lake Rd.
All proceeds after race expenditures will benefit Fisher House Foundation, a
not-for-profit organization providing temporary lodging and facilities for
the families of military members who are being treated at military and VA
medical centers for a combat injury, illness, or disease. Information about
Fisher House Foundation and their mission can be found at
