Liberty Lake trail is an 8 mile loop located near Liberty Lake, Washington that features waterfalls, a creek bed, bridges, single track, and switchbacks with canopied cedar groves. The start and finish are an out and back, runners will hit the trail counter-clock-wise this year, the first 1.5 miles are mostly flat with double and single track. Then you will reach the bottom EDITH and she is a tough one, one mile with an average grade of 18% and 800’ of elevation gain. The route levels out a bit and becomes a rolling course for the next 1.4 miles, then you climb again! This climb is 1.4 miles and 500’ of elevation gain, just before you reach the top you will arrive at the Boy Scout cabin and a well-stocked Aid station with gels, chips, water, Gatorade, and cookies. Now the fun and fast decent, running past waterfalls, crossing bridges and running through an old cedar grove. Be careful your quads will be weak when you reach the bottom. The last 1.5 miles will not be easy after all that! This trail run is rated as difficult. Post-race party includes a pancake feed with sausages and typical post-race refreshments :)
