Course

The race consists of multiple laps of a USATF-certified 1.00 mile path in Decatur, Alabama’s Delano Park. Aid will be available on each lap. The tree-lined course is flat with total elevation change of less than 15 feet per lap and is completely unpaved. The average high temperature is 60F and average low is 40F. Sometimes it rains all day, it has snowed, and it can get kinda warm, be prepared for anything.

Late Late Registrations

If we don't fill up the individual 12 Hour and 50 mile divisions pre-race, we will be taking late registrations at packet pickup on Friday night (5:30-7pm at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 801 Jackson St SE)> for individual 12 Hour and 50 mile runners.   You will not be guaranteed a shirt or personalized plaque but you can still join in the fun and be an official runner.

Personalized Finisher Plaques

Registered runners names and relay team names go to the awards maker on Thursday 2/25. Register by 6am Thursday morning to guarantee you get a plaque with your name or team name on it.

Awards

In the 12 Hour Run, awards based on highest mileage will be awarded for the top 3 places overall, masters winner, and grandmasters winner for both genders. Relay awards based on mileage will be given to the top team. Final rankings will be determined by the time the final lap is finished. (No partial laps. Laps finished after 6:00 pm will not count)

In the 50 mile event, awards based on time will be given to the first male and female individuals.

Schwag

Each participant will receive a personalized plaque with the total mileage completed and your name, a race T-Shirt, and other race goodies. We will make every attempt to capture each and every mile split for every participant in the event.

After Party

This year there will be an after party/fundraiser event at and for St Ann School, 3910 Spring Av, Decatur organized by Jay Beasley. Jay is a writer from New York who finishing up a book about Canadian ultra runner Al Howie and starting a new book on New York ultra runner Tom McGrath. Tom is a past record holder of the Trans-Am multi day ultra. Tom, Jay and former Trans-Am race Director Jessie Riley will be running Delano 12 this year. The event at St Ann's starts at 6:30pm. Jay, Tom and Jessie plan to come to the post race meal and awards at 6:30 at Westminster and then go to the after party. There will be an awesome Jazz band with Jeff Beasley and the Huntsville Institute of music playing from 6:30 to 9pm. Relay Registration

The Team Captain needs to register first and give the team a name. Other team members can then register and join the team.
