Dark 2 Dawn is an all-night trail run at Indian Camp Creek in St. Charles County, offering 10K and six-hour timed ultra options.
This race is presented by Terrain Trail Runners
Dark 2 Dawn will be held after the Sunset Sizzler Mountain Bike Race in 2020. Check St. Charles County Parks and Recreation website for more details on the registartion for the Sunset Sizzler MTB event.
This Is a Cup-Free Event
PLEASE NOTE: DARK 2 DAWN IS A CUP-FREE EVENT, which means there won't be any paper cups at aid stations, and there won't be any paper or plastic cups at our finish-lines. We won't be making any exceptions to this rule, so if you don't bring your own drinking receptacle come race-weekend, you'll want to pre-purchase a collapsible cup and if you don't already have a reusable soft flask to carry with you on the course (for soda & electrolyte drink, etc.), we will have the collapsible cups for purchase when you check in for the race and/or at packet pickup for $5 (quantities limited at check-in).
Please help us keep our races eco-friendly, minimize the trash in the landfills and our trails clean.

The Dark 2 Dawn 10k and 6 Hrs timed ultra are simultaneous trail races that will be held on the scenic Indian Camp Creek Park. Each race takes place on an approx. 6.7mile-ish loop route featuring a combination of open-field crossings and wooded singletrack, consisting mainly of dirt with a bit of rock mixed in. The terrain is flat to rolling hills.
** The Dark 2 Dawn 10K is one loops and 6 Hrs timed option challenges you to knock down as many loops as you have in you in the given time frame.
Please be aware that this is a trail race and the mileage for the loop/course is approximate you may end up running a little over than the suggested 10K per loop.
NO WIMPS AND NO WHINING!
START TIME & TIME LIMIT:
***DUE TO COVID-19 WE WILL NOT HAVE LIVE MUSIC AT THIS YEARS EVENT***
Sepcific details on packet pickup times, location, traffic flow along with camping etc will be emailed to runners no later than June 21, 2020.
The start time for the 10K will be 12:01 AM and 6 Hrs timed ultra-distance will be 12:30 AM on Sunday, June 28, 2020.
PLEASE NOTE: Check-in begins at 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2020. Pick up your race packet, pitch a tent and enjoy live music from 9 to 11 p.m.
CUT OFF TIMES: 10K there is none. 6 Hrs timed ultra participants MUST start their final loop by 5:00 AM. The race runs from 12:01 AM - 6:30 AM!
***DUE TO COVID-19 WE WILL BE CHANGING AID STATION PROTOCOLS FOR EVERYONE's SAFETY***
There will be 1 Aid Stations at the start/finish that will be supplied with water, electrolyte drinks, gels, snacks, first aid, and enthusiastic volunteers! Restrooms will be available at the start/finish.
Everyone must run with a handheld or hydration vest.
***DEADLINE FOR GUARANTEED SWAG WITH YOUR REGISTRATION IS MAY 22, 2020***
We cannot guarantee SWAG for Race Registrations made after May 24, 2020, but an alternative swag will be provided.

AWARDS: Awards will be given for the first overall male and female finisher for the 10K distance and for top three male and female finishers based on the number of loops finished and time in which they were completed for the 6 hrs timed ultra.

FINISH-LINE BRACELETS (for non-runners & non-volunteers): Anyone eating or drinking needs to have a finish-line bracelet on the day they're otherwise running/volunteering. We will have finish-line bracelets for sale at the merch table on race-day ($5 - CASH ONLY) if you didn't already pre-purchase them via UltraSignup for $5. If you aren't a registered runner or volunteer, pre-purchasing a bracelet online helps us better plan when we're purchasing items for the finish-line breakfast. It helps cover our extra food and drink costs for spectators, and in turn helps us keep race costs down.
It also helps ensure that we have food and drinks available for the last finishers and last volunteers back to the finish line.
