Event Description
Join us Saturday August 7th, 2010 for the 33rd Annual Mt. Ashland Hillclimb Run. This 13.3 mile event begins in downtown Ashland's beautiful Lithia Park (el 1900') and climbs on tree-canopied dirt roads and trails to finish on the Mt. Ashland summit (7533'), for a total of 5,600' of climbing--that's over a vertical mile! The Mt Ashland Hill Climb Run has the second most elevation gain of any continuous hill climb in the continental United States. We're part of the USATF Oregon Mountain Running Series and now also a national series called the La Sportiva Mountain Cup.
The following cut-off times exist: 10:15 am to Four Corners (~7 miles), 11:30am to Bull Gap (~11.3 miles) and 12:15am to the Lodge (~13 miles).
Everyone starts at 7:30am. Start is on Winburn Way near City Hall/Lithia Park. No early starts.
Race packet pickup is 12pm to 6pm, at Rogue Valley Runners, 161 E. Main St, downtown Ashland or at least 15-minutes before the race.
All proceeds go to the Ashland Woodlands and Trails Association, to continue to build and maintain trails in the Ashland area.
