*We plan to send out our "final instructions" e-mail to participants on Monday, July 13th. We may send out an additional update this week just to help you keep track of important information. You can find trail maps and an elevation chart (clockwise direction) here on UltraSignup as well as on our "M Hill Ultra" Facebook event page. Please feel free to reach out to us with any race specific questions that you might have. We look forward to the opportunity to host you this July!

Hello!

We (Laren & Chris) are creating this race with the goal of providing an awesome race experience that will both test your limits physically & mentally and also create a fun and exciting atmosphere for yourself and any family/friends/crew that happen to join you on this adventure! We have each raced and volunteered at numerous ultras in the past and are excited to join in this venture of race directing.

M Hill & the entire Hanson-Larson Memorial Park is a jewel located entirely within the city limits of Rapid City. This race will give you a chance to explore what this challenging & beautiful park has to offer. The unique loop format will allow us to fully staff & maintain a single aid station at the conclusion/start of each loop and also allows you to have drop bag and/or cooler access throughout the entire race. Stop to rest & refuel for as long as needed but the clock never stops ticking!

REFUND POLICY
We will follow standard ultra event policy that all entry fees are non-refundable. When you register for this event we plan on you attending and purchase supplies & services accordingly. This policy stays in effect whether you are injured, have an unexpected business or family emergency, illness, etc. There are NO exceptions.

We reserve the right to postpone, pause, or cancel the event due to events out of our control such as extreme weather, wildfire, a natural disaster or emergency. No refunds will be issued under these circumstances. We may also alter the course at any time if required due to course blockages or other restrictions or impediments. Please know that as race directors we will make EVERY effort to hold this event 100% as advertised. We put our reputations on the line hosting this event and take this race directing role seriously.

*A portion of all race proceeds will go directly to the Hanson-Larson Memorial Park non-profit to keep these trails available for future generations to use and enjoy.

Logistics

The direction of the race will switch every three hours throughout the event, beginning clockwise for each distance start. Runners will be told which way to travel at the beginning of each unique loop.
*24 & 12 hr racers will be on a 3-3-3-3 pattern, but due to the staggered start the 6 hr racers will be on a 2-3-1 pattern

Each loop will measure 3.80 miles and feature approximately 525 feet of elevation gain, depending on whose GPS data you trust the most!

Pacers are discouraged (for social distancing reasons) but will be allowed as this trail is open to the general public throughout the event.

*The M Hill trails will NOT be closed to other users during this event. We would guess that most hikers, bikers, runners not involved will utilize other sections of trail but there will certainly be some non-race traffic, especially near the main trail-heads. With that being said, most of the trail is plenty wide to accommodate two-way traffic whether on foot or bike.

We are hosting this event with special permission from the non-profit group that controls these trails. Please respect this area and ensure that you do not litter and be courteous to other racers and trail users. We would like to try our best to keep this event in good standing and to be allowed back for future years.

The course will be thoroughly marked with both pin flagging and reflective tape.

SWAG & Awards

All entrants will receive a M Hill Ultra t-shirt.

Top male & female overall mileage totals will receive a special award.

All competitors will receive a finisher award unique to this event.
