Due to the uncertainty with COVID-19 we have made registration for this event a waitlist only because we feel it is irresponsible to continue to collect registration fees. We have no plans to cancel or reschedule this event and the event is not sold out as this page suggests. If the race goes on as planned, you will receive an email from Ultrasignup asking you to accept the invitation to register for this race. A Multi-Day Running Festival

Across the Years is the original fixed-time multi-day running event celebrating the New Year! Runners select their event and cover as much distance as possible. Each runner is free to walk, stop, eat, sleep whenever they wish, but the clock is always running!

Starting December 28, we celebrate the traditions of pedestrianism and fixed-time racing with a festival of running that lasts 10 days!

The event will feature the traditional 6-day race along with the 24 hour, 48 hour, and 72 hour races. Last year we added a 10 day race, multiple fixed distances, a Last Person Standing event, and 24 Hour relays! We had so much fun over 10 days, we decided to make the 10-Day an annual event!

Join us at Camelback Ranch as we run into 2021 with a community of familiar faces and welcomed new friends. Set a goal, break a record, earn a buckle, rack up lifetime miles, go beyond your limits, or simply kick off the New Year with a bit of fun and enjoy the company.

Fixed Distances

Kick off your 2021 with BIG miles! Back again this year, the 200 Mile race starts New Years Day, Friday, January 1st at 10AM - and ends Tuesday morning at 10am - giving runners 96 hours to complete the distance.

Ever dream of completing 100 Miles? With a 72 hour cutoff, this is a great challenge for any aspiring ultra-runner! Start Saturday, January 2nd at 10am and find yourself 100 Miles strong in the New Year!

New to 2020-2021 we are calling for those who really want to push a new distance: 500 KM challenges all runners to dig deep and press on through the night to achieve over 300 miles. 144 hours to complete this distance starting 10am on New Years Day, Friday, January 1! Oh, what fun!

Custom wooden buckles designed by Aravaipa Artworx await the runners who finish these distances!

Fixed Time

Echo the days of pedestrianism, ATY is rooted in the fixed-time 'go as you please' style of racing. Runners choose how much fun they can handle with options from 6 hours to 10 days! Fixed-time racing is more a competition with yourself as you can challenge yourself to go further than you dreamed possible!

For the Maniacs!

With some tweaks to last year's marathon challenge, we will be hosting a marathon (26.2 miles) every day for 10 days! Want to go 10 in 10? (10 marathons in 10 days) - runners can save by committing to all ten days at ATY (make sure to click, "Marathon Challenge"). Marathons will start every day at 9 am (no early starts) and runners will exit the course upon completion of 26.2 miles. Runners completing the 10-day challenge will receive a 200 Mile ATY buckle as well as a 10 Day Marathon Finisher Award. Podium awards will be determined for both the individual marathon (top three fastest men and women over 10 days) and the 10-Day Marathon Challenge (fastest cumulative time). Runners in the 10-Day Marathon Challenge will not be considered for awards in the 10-Day fixed time event.

New Year's 24 Hr Relay!

On New Year's Day, January 1, 2021, we’re hosting a 24-hour 2 person relay! Teams will compete over 24 hours. One runner on the course at a time and your team must pass a baton with your team’s timing chip attached to the current on-course runner. Find a friend, a family member, or challenge your co-workers to 24-hours of running and shenanigans!

Last Person Standing

Back for a second year, Inspired by Laz's Last Man Standing format, this event goes one step further.
Participants will set out on one lap of the Across The Year's course around Camelback Ranch every 15 minutes. Runners must start together from a common corral at the start of each 15 minute time increment and cross the start / finish line of the loop before the 15 minutes is up.
The event will continue until there is only one person left. This ultimate test of mental and physical endurance is designed so that anyone can win, all they need to do is keep up about a 15 minute per mile pace longer than anyone else. This is definitely one of the most exciting components to participate in and spectate at ATY!

Location

Across the Years is held at the beautiful Camelback Ranch located in Phoenix, Arizona.  Camelback Ranch is a state-of-the-art spring training facility for the Los Angles Dodgers and the Chicago White Sox.  It opened in March 2009, and features lush greenery, a lake with waterfall, and smooth dirt and gravel walking paths.  The race route is a 1.05 mile loop consisting of 90% dirt paths and 10% asphalt.  The track averages ten feet in width, with a minimum width of 6 feet. Gaiters are recommended.  The facility is only a few miles away from the Westgate City Center, home of the University of Phoenix stadium, shopping, and other attractions.

Around the Clock Challenge

Want to kick off your New Year with more of a challenge?

The "Around the Clock" challenge gives participants in the fixed-time races another opportunity to earn a unique award along with all the bragging rights! We challenge any participant to record at least one lap per hour for the duration of their event. For example, a runner in the 24-hour event would run or walk a
minimum of one lap for each hour in the 24 hours they are competing (0100 hour, 0200 hour, etc). The same principle
applies to ALL fixed time events at ATY (including the 6 day: 1 lap every hour for 144 hours, or the 10 day: 1 lap every hour for 240 hours...trust John Geesler, it's doable). Complete this challenge and earn a custom token of
achievement! Runner’s be weary, this challenge is more difficult than you may think!
