m curious if people think it would be smart to wear gaiters. In my limited experience on/near this trail, I've found it to be quite sandy. I can only guess that this will become a problem, with sand getting into the shoes, while running 33/55 miles. Thoughts from those with experience on this trail?

If we miss a cutoff or are unable to finish will the race volunteers be able to assist us getting back to our vehicle?
