Group Training Package Includes:
Training plan runs from March-September race day provided one month at a time.
26.2 mile plan includes 3-4 days running with 2 days of basic strength work per week.
50 mile plan includes 4-5 days running with 2 days of basic strength work per week.
100 mile plan includes 5-6 days running with 2 days of basic strength work per week.
Monthly group zoom calls with your coaches on the last Sunday of each month. (recordings will be sent out via email afterwards)
Unlimited email contact with coaches.
Monthly article from Team Sparkle Productions related to training.
One on course group run for locals in August, final date TBD
Group pre-race strategy calls sorted by your race distance (prior to any races included in this plan)
Locals will receive a discount to attend classes at the Team Sparkle Gym and Team Sparkle’s Hill Group that begins on March 23rd
Mileage Requirements for Training:
You must be able to run this mileage comfortably by March 1 when training starts. Comfortably means that you can finish your run feeling strong and go throughout your day like normal.
Athletes signing up for the 26.2 mile plan must be able to run 8 miles comfortably.
Athletes signing up for the 50 mile plan must be able to comfortably run 15 miles
Athletes signing up for the 100 mile plan must be able to comfortably run 15-18 miles. We also recommend that you either have run a 50 miler in the past year, or plan to run either a 50 miler or 100k within this training plan.
Getting Started with your plan:
We will email everyone on Friday February 24th discussing how you will access your training plan via an account that you will create in Final Surge.
Sunday February 26th (time TBD) we will have a zoom call detailing March’s plan, and answering any questions you may have. (Call will be recorded if you can’t be on it live)
Monday February 27th your training will begin.
You will have an email on the last Friday of each month with an article written by Team Sparkle, any pertinent information about training, and a link to the zoom call for that month. You will have your schedule for the next month by that Friday so you can ask any questions related to it on that month’s zoom call.
A Note About Group Training
A note about group training:
Group training differs from personal coaching in several ways. You will receive a plan for a month at a time with an ideal schedule for your race goals. Everyone signed up for your race distance will receive the same training plan. We are happy to offer suggestions about how to move things to fit your personal schedule, but we will not be doing any plan rewrites. It is up to you to make sure that you are following the plan to the best of your ability and making adjustments based on your personal schedule and needs (we can offer recommendations on our monthly calls). Plans are written and accessed via Final Surge. We ask that you set up your account so that your hard data is imported and we can see if you are completing the runs (we will go over how to do this), though we will not be providing comments and feedback throughout the month. If you have any major concerns you are welcome to email and ask questions.
Personal training and coaching offers more nuance. Plans are written with your schedule in mind, adjusted as necessary throughout the month, and comments and feedback are provided consistently throughout the month. If you feel like you need more accountability or personalization please consider reaching out about personal coaching instead.
Rates are set at $50 per month for group training. ALL race registration including the HAWK distance of your choice is included. (registrations have been discounted on this inclusion as well).

If you are not local to the KC area or have a differing race schedule, you may purchase a plan at the following rates. Your plan will include the race distances listed above and you will be expected to either complete those distances on your own or find a local race within a similar timeframe. Please review the note on group training vs personal coaching if you are registering for races on different dates or of slightly varied distances.
