Welcome to The Double Down Endurance Races
Welcome to year 3 of The Double Down Endurance Races at Eugene T. Mahoney State Park. This event offers a fun Cross-Country loop that has been tested at the Collegiate level and is perfect for those that might be running their first trail event or the seasoned runner. The fun will kickoff at the beautiful Eugene T. Mahoney State Park Located between Nebraska's two biggest cities in Ashland, NE on Saturday, June 1, 2024 starting at 6am for the 50K and Half Marathon and 8:30am for the 5KM Race. Along with the popular 50K distance this year new to the trails will be a Half Marathon and 5K distances. Registration for the 5K opens on 2/16 and is open for runners 7 years of age and up. With it's gorgeous Prairie views, held on the grounds of one of Nebraska's most visited state parks these races will be a fun and fast favorite to many runners and their families and you won't want to miss out! Reserve your spot today because this years field will be limited to just 200 runners!
New for this year! Once you finish your race, participants be sure to head over and check in with our chuckwagon volunteers for some great eats.

This ULTRA Series will starts with the 2024 Double Down Endurance Races and will continue into the fall with the fifth year of the Yippee-Ki-Yay Races. 2 different States, 2 Awesome venues and 1 Awesome Race series with more to come!!
Here's how the Series works. When you complete the 2024 Double Down 50K and the 2024 Yippee-Ki-Yay 50K you will receive a custom gift to boot for your BIG 2024 Ultra accomplishment. We think that deserves a BIG HUGE YEE HAW!!!

A portion of each entry fee is donated to the Ashland-Greenwood XC and Track Teams as well as Mahoney State Park.

Location and Start Times:
Start/Finish Eugene T. Mahoney State Park in Ashland, NE
· 50k Distance runners will start at 6am.
· Half Marathon participants will start at 6am.
· The 5KM race will get underway at 8:30am. There will be a 9hr and 30 minute race time limit for all events. Sunrise is at approximately 5:50am.
50K Participants will complete 10 Full Course Loops(5K Course loop)
Half Marathon Participants will complete 4 Full Course (Half Marathon Loop)
5K Participants will complete 1 Full 5K Course Loop
Event Information
Field limit: 200 runners
· 5K Trail loop Conditions: Cross Country/ Single Track Trail.
Elevation gain per loop: 165ft.
Half Marathon loop Conditions: Cross Country/ Single Track Trail.
· Elevation gain per loop 181ft
· 9hr and 30 minute race cut off for all participants. (18:21per mile pace).
· Each event will be bib/chip-timed
· There will be 1 Stocked aid station with Water, Sports drink, Honey Stinger products, Ultra food
There will also be a 2nd unmaned aid station with Water and supplies with course monitors on site.

Runner expectations
All athletes are responsible for their own good sportsmanship, as well as their pacer/crew's.
Headphones are discouraged, we ask that you remain aware of your surroundings for everyone’s safety.
This is a CLOSED COURSE to the Public however Participants will have access to parking during the day. Runner Safety is our priority.
Entries are non-refundable and non-transferable to other events.
Drop Bags
Drop Bags are permitted to each participant for the 50K race participants. We highly recommend having all needed items in a Dry Bag or Waterproof bag. The location of the Drop bags will be sectioned off right next to the Start/Finish Line making it very easy to access after each loop. (More Info to follow upcoming).
Notes from the RD
We have some news effecting the 2024 event. The 2024 Double Down Endurance Races for the 100K and the 10K distances must be paused this year due to course renovations by the Nebraska Game and Parks. We are excited for the upcoming updates as it will enhance runner experience for future years to come. We welcome 2 new offerings for the 2024 event with a Half Marathon and 5K event. Both are conducted at the same location as the 50K event. We have the 2024 course details as well in our maps page. This year will be a great time for everyone at Mahoney State Park!
