Welcome to The Double Down Endurance Races

Come join us for exciting year 2 of the Double Down Endurance 100K, 50K, 10K Races! The fun will kickoff at the beautiful Eugene T. Mahoney State Park Located between Nebraska's two biggest cities in Ashland, NE on Saturday, June 3, 2023 starting at 5am. The races will get underway in a BIG way with the 100K Ultra Marathon and 50K Ultra with the 10K race to follow. This course offers an exciting and fun 10K Single Track Trail and Cross Country mix loop perfect for those that might be running their first trail event but also challenging to the most seasoned of trail runners. Buckles to the 100K Finishers and Custom medals to the 50K and 10K finishers! After your hard earned finish kick back with with some great eats. With it's gorgeous Prairie views, held on the grounds of one of Nebraska's most visited state parks these races will be a fun and fast favorite to many runners and their families and you won't want to miss out! Be one of the first 50 registered runners in 100K or 50K field (combined) and you will receive an AWESOME Limited Edition Double Down BOCO Gear Race Hat. ***We are also happy to be announcing the start of a awesome new race series called the Rawhide Ultra Race Series and is Presented by Happy Trailz Running!

This New ULTRA Series will start in 2023 with The Double Down Endurance Races and will continue into the fall with the fourth year of the Yippee-Ki-Yay Races. 2 different States, 2 Awesome venues and the start of 1 Awesome Race series with more to come!!

Here's how the Series works. When you complete the 2023 Double Down 100K or 50K and the 2023 Yippee-Ki-Yay 50K you will receive a beautiful custom wood plaque to boot for your BIG 2023 Ultra accomplishment. We think that deserves a BIG HUGE YEE HAW!!!

The Yippee-Ki-Yay Races open on 2/3.

Event Details

Location and Start Times:
Start/Finish Eugene T. Mahoney State Park in Ashland, NE
· 100K and 50k Distance runners will start at 5am.
· 10K participants will start at 8am.
· There will be a 16hr and 30 minute. race time limit for all events. 100K and 50K Participants will need a headlamp for hour 1 or first light. Sunrise is at approximately 5:50am.

100K Participants will complete 10 Full Course Loops
50K Participants will complete 5 Full Course Loops
10K Participants will complete 1 Full Course Loop

Event Information

Field limit: 200 runners
· 10K Trail loop Conditions: Single Track Trail and Cross Country.
Elevation gain per loop: 181ft.
16hr and 30 minute race cut off for all participants. (15:58 per mile pace).
· Each event will be bib/chip-timed
· There will be 1 Stocked aid station with Water, Sports drink, Honey Stinger products, Ultra food
There will also be a 2nd unmaned aid station with Water and supplies with course monitors on site.

and will be sent via email or posted here prior to race day, notification updates as they take place.

Runner expectations

All athletes are responsible for their own good sportsmanship, as well as their pacer/crew's.
Headphones are discouraged, we ask that you remain aware of your surroundings for everyone’s safety.
This is a CLOSED COURSE to the Public however Participants will have access to parking during the day. Pacers will need to purchase a day pass or Secure a Nebraska State Parks membership prior to race day. Please have State Park Sicker displayed when arriving on Race Morning. Please use caution when on the access road on the south side of the park. The Access Road will open at 4am and close at 4:45am or until lot is full. We’ll have cones and signs marking where to park. 10K runners and Spectators will be expected to park only on Southeast side. Our Volunteers will be doing access checks. PLEASE do not try to better your parking situation for the safety of our runners onsite and the conducting of the racecourse. Runner Safety is our priority.
Entries are non-refundable and non-transferable to other events.

Pacers and Drop Bags

Each Pacer MUST register in order to be permitted to pace and only 1 pacer per 100K runner is allowed. Failure to register as a pacer and participate is not permitted and is subject to disqualification of the 100K Participant. The registered Pacer will be permitted to join the Participant for ONLY the Final 3 loops of the 100K Race. There are no pacers allowed for the 50K race.

Drop Bags are permitted to each participant for the 100K and 50K races. We highly recommend having all needed items in a Dry Bag or Waterproof bag. The location of the Drop bags will be sectioned off right next to the Start/Finish Line making it very easy to access after each loop. (More Info to follow upcoming).

This Race Gives Back

A portion of each entry fee is donated to the Ashland-Greenwood XC and Track Teams as well as Mahoney State Park.

**We will have course updates along with drop bag, participant tent canopy set up area for 50 and 100K runners, parking maps and more. An athlete guide will go out to each participant 2 weeks prior to race weekend.
