Race Overview

The South Texas Ultra is a 50K, 35K, 17K, and 5K scenic trail run held on the H.W. Lewis Ranch in the Texas Hill Country. Featuring beautiful scenery and challenging rocky, dirt, and grass trails with over 2850 feet of elevation gain for the 50K event, the race follows a 10.8M looped course and a unique route for the 5K, beginning and ending at the H.W. Lewis Ranch. This race brings a memorable atmosphere, beautiful views, and fun on the trails.

2023 Solar Eclipse

Our race happens to be on the same day and place where there will be a solar eclipse - meaning two things. One, there will be lots of people in the tiny town of Leakey TX. There may be heavy traffic and very limited resources such as food and lodging. Two, as you're running, it will get temporarily dark while out on the course. Please do not look at the eclipse without solar eclipse sunglasses. We may have some the day of the race for participants.

Course Overview

- Surface: Majority rocky with dirt and grass ATV trails
- Course: H.W. Lewis Ranch Trails
- Elevation: Lots of ups and downs climbing with three big climbs showing 950ft every 10.8M loop.
