About the Trail
Tour de Lizard is hosted at Camp Horizon in Arkansas City KS. The trails at Camp Horizon are maintained by volunteers through the Walnut Valley Flyers. Thanks to a few really dedicated people we have 18 miles of beautiful, technical and flowly trails along the Arkansas River. The amount of elevation throughout the trail may come as a surprise but trust us when we say that the views are worth it!
The 50k course will make two laps through the course.
Aid Stations
There will be fully stocked Aid Stations located throughout the trail, approximately every 3-4 miles depending on the terrain. If you have a favorite aid station snack please let us know! We also supply water and packets of Skratch.
Dogs
Leashed and supervised dogs (dogs attached to humans) are welcome at Camp Horizon. Due to the nature of the event and trails they will not be allowed on the course during the running or biking events.
Cut-Off Time & Awards
There will be a strict cut-off time of 5pm for all distances, this allows us to get staged and ready for the mountain bike race on Sunday.
All participants will receive a finisher's award. There will also be age group and overall winners with awards!
