Mt. Diablo Training Run
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A REVISED EVENT location and description as of 3/18/24! Due to permit constraints and the size our training runs have grown to, we can only run out of Mitchell Canyon. We had some internal confusion but we've found the gift in the adversity!
Our spring training runs continue on Saturday, March 23rd, 9am at Mt. Diablo (Macedo Ranch Staging Area)! Our spring training runs continue on Saturday, March 23rd at 9am with an unforgettable day on the steep and gorgeous trails of Mt. Diablo State Park.
These runs are an absolute blast! With more than 250 intrepid souls gathering for a bracing run up Mount Diablo, these training runs have become miniature versions of our June event. What better way to spend a day than on an epic run with friends, a summit aid station and a post-event feast, complete with non-alcoholic beverages from Best Day Brewing, and an amazing raffle with prizes from Salomon, Garmin, Leki, Hydrapak, Nomadix .... and more. This a perfect way to continue your spring training for our race weekend or whatever other events you have planned.
In partnership with Paddy O'Leary and Michael Li, we've designed three distinct routes so that runners of all ability levels can join the fun. Beginner, intermediate, or expert, at the Broken Arrow Skyrace New Year's Day Training Run, YOU are a rockstar!
Course specifics are most readily available on our Broken Arrow Strava club page as well as our Capra mobile app, which is best accessed from our website. As there isn't reliable cell coverage around Mt. Diablo, we STRONGLY encourage you to DOWNLOAD the courses ahead of time.
We encourage you to carpool and arrive early, especially so that you can demo the brand new Salomon Genesis, as well as other popular trail models including the Thundercross and Ultra Glide 2. Mt. Diablo's steep terrain is the perfect test ground for LEKI run poles, which will also be available for demo. And .... Garmin will join us once again with Fenix 7 demo watches! Lastly, our friends from Sidas will also be on hand with freebies and beta on their best-in-class footbeds.
All participants will receive a post-event discount code for Salomon, LEKI, Hydrapak, Garmin and Sidas to redeem on Brendan's shop in Tahoe City, Alpenglow Sports. Alpenglow (and Brendan) have generously offered these discounts for all our training run participants.
Please note that there is limited parking that costs $8 per vehicle. This is a free event but we do ask that you register on Ultrasignup. See you there and please reach out if you have any questions.
