About
The 2024 Salt City Trail Series by Reluctant Runner Racing will kick the year off with the 7th Annual English's Ridge Rumble at beautiful and serene Green Lakes State Park!
While most of the course will remain the same as 2023, there's a good possibility that the Start/Finish line will be moved out of the parking lot and up to the Frisbee Golf Pavilion. We're still working on the details and more information will be provided once everything is confirmed.
Whether a seasoned trail vet or new to the trail scene, you'll love this race because while it'll challenge your fitness, the trails are runner friendly. And if you frequent the trails at Green Lakes you already know how beautiful it can be! If this is your first trail race or first time at GLSP, you are in store for a treat!
This course will hit many of the prettiest and challenging corners of the park, including the Serengeti, Round Lake, the Powerline, and Quarry Hill! In between those places you'll find yourself among open fields with vistas for days and old growth forests!
Keep in mind, ERR has become a popular race option for a lot of runners and will sell out so don't wait too long to decide whether or not to take on the challenge of the English's Ridge Rumble!
The English Ridge Rumble is a USATF-sanctioned event.
Race Details
In 2024, ERR will be taking place in mid-April, which you may know can bring all kinds of weather! Conditions could be snowy and cold or sunny and warm, so it's up to you to be prepared for whatever CNY weather can bring us on race day!
The course will be clearly marked but as is often the case at GL, it's pretty easy to get turned around so we'll have volunteers or extra marking at key intersections to ensure you go the correct way. However, part of trail running and racing is navigation so it's in your own best interest to get out to GL and get to know the course! The better you know it, the faster you'll be able to run! Each lap (for all distances) is about 10.3 miles and will include about 1300 ft of elevation gain, which makes this course pretty tough, especially if you're not adapted to running up and down hills. If you haven't run at GLSP before, the trails on the course will be quite varied and include some technical (rocks and roots) sections but most of the course will be on double-track trails made up of either mulch beds, gravel, or grass.
More details about the race will be posted on the Reluctant Runner Racing website.

Refunds will not be granted at any time prior to the race starting.
