Description
Challenge yourself to another level at the Jackson County 50-50. Very steep topography rewards you with fantastic vistas along the ridgetops in Jackson-Washington State Forest. Each lap will take you around two different and beautiful lakes and to the highest point in Jackson county.
?Though the course is rugged, Pyoca Camp, Conference, and Retreat Center balances that out with warm, dry places to eat, sleep, shower, and gather before and after the race. We've partnered with the camp to bring you affordable weekend-long packages including full meals on Friday night, Saturday post-race, and Sunday recovery breakfast.
?The course is a 10-mile loop with approximately 1,600 feet of vertical gain per lap. The trail is a mix of double-track (fire road style) trail and single-track narrow trail. About 3/4 mile of the course is on a paved road within the State Forest. Aid stations will be located every 3-5 miles along the route, and each lap will pass within feet of Pyoca's lodge building; offering warmth, restrooms, and access to your personal stash of food, clothing, and other needs.
?Your entry fee also includes: Post-race food (soup, sandwiches, etc), access to post-race showers, aid stations stocked with liquids and energy snacks, and more. Ultra-distance runners only will receive: custom Headsweats reversible beanie or touch-screen friendly gloves, a finisher medal, and race awards for overall and age group top three.
