A very challenging technical course in hot and dry conditions with approximately 15,400 feet of climbing and the same amount of descent with a 32 hour time limit. The race is a once again a qualifier for Western States 100.

The race has been described as the biggest discrepancy between what it looks like on paper and how hard it actually is. Expect amazing volunteers, and incredible support. You have been warned.

Qualification to Apply

As a prerequisite to apply, applicants must have completed a 50 mile race in under 13 hours between the dates of January 1, 2023 to March 15, 2025. Applicants who have completed a 100K or a 100 mile within the time limits of that race within that same time frame are also qualified to enter. You can sign up for the race without your qualifier as long as you get your qualifier by May 1, 2025. However, please be aware that if you fail to qualify, your entry will be subject to our refund policy, so please review it carefully.

Applicants are also required to perform 6 hours of trail maintenance as a volunteer or 6 hours of volunteer service at another ultra or other community service from between June 1, 2024 and May 15, 2025. In lieu of trailwork, we also offer an option to donate $100 to support our volunteers and Trailfit which services the trails of San Diego County. Those who do not complete the volunteer requirement or donate to Trailfit will not be allowed to participate in the race. This is STRICTLY enforced.

SOLO Division

The 2025 event will again have a Solo Division to recognize all runners who opt to run the entire race without the support of a crew or pacers with spectators only allowed to meet Solo runners at the start and finish line. All finishing Solo runners will receive special awards to include a unique belt buckle. Solo runners will have to rely on their drop bags and the aid stations for all support. We have the best aid station volunteers in the business, so you will feel plenty of love! Solo runners are allowed to run with other registered runners but must rely only on themselves (drop bags) and aid station volunteers throughout the entire race. No one is allowed to be a spectator, pacer or crew for Solo entrants.
